Kapacity.io's latest update to Kapacity.io Cloud's control logic makes sure your home stays cozy and heat during cheapest times. Previously we told about updates in Kapacity.io's comfort mode . Now, all modes, i.e. Balanced and Maximum Savings, are also updated to follow this logic.
Here's an example on how controls have changed during low price hours:
In which the upper graph shows the control shift (orange) against baseline (black). The lower graph shows the energy consumption for space heating (orange) and hot domestic water (blue).
The same heat pump consumed on a similar day with low prices more energy during cheapest hours:
New control logic during low dynamic electricity prices.
What’s new in heating controls? Previously our system aimed to minimize the electricity use even when electricity prices were low. Now we have improved the algorithm to allow additional energy use when prices are low. This allows us to use cheap prices better to pre-heat the building and to keep house comfortable cheaply
The result is better indoor comfort without extra cost.
Why comfort control matters More comfort: Your home stays warm without sudden temperature drops.
Less hassle: The system automatically optimizes heating so you can focus on your day.
Same energy use: Kapacity.io Cloud mostly shifts your consumption but also we allows additional energy use when prices are very low.
No need for changes You don’t need to do anything to enable the new control logic. All controls are automatic and are updated via the Cloud.
In case you want to change your comfort settings, they are found (as always) here:
Go to Kapacity.io Cloud Open Settings Switch from Balanced (default) to Max Savings or Comfort These modes help you make the most of price fluctuations while keeping your home at the right temperature.
